SHAH ALAM: African outfit Zimbabwe scored a convincing 3-0 victory over Selangor in a friendly match at the Shah Alam stadium here on Thursday’s night.

Zimbabwe’s prolific striker Mushekwi Nyasa struck twice in the 26th and 40th minutes of the first half before adding his third in the 57th minute of the second half to complete a hat-trick.

Nyasa opened accounts with a header that completely deceived Selangor custodian Mohd Fairul Azwan Shahrullai before scoring the second and third after good build up support from his team-mates.

Selangor, the Super League and FA Cup defending champions, had a number of good chances, especially in the 71st minute when Mohd Safee Sali was put through by Mohd Fazilidin Khalid but with only goalkeeper Arubi Washington to beat, he muffed his chance.

Selangor coached by K. Devan, are preparing for their M-League season opening Charity Shield match against Negeri Sembilan in Seremban on Jan 9.
